She is survived by : her children, Christina Pinkney and Vincent Pinkney (Cheri Maddox-Pinkney); her grandchildren, Maddox, Lennon, Mason and Luna Pinkney; her former life partner Rev. André Pinkney; her siblings, Renee Brooks (Arthur Brooks) and Ricky Sample (Eunice Sample); her nieces and nephews, Valerie'Rese'Staten, Tiffany Sample, Kesha Sample, Derrick Simpson and Bryan Simpson; and her goddaughters, Shaneil Guidry and Vanessa Woodward (Jalil Woodward). She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Viewing was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home & Crematory (1002 Moorman Ave NW, Roanoke, VA 24016). Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kingdom Life Ministries International (2002 Mercer Ave NW, Roanoke, VA 24017). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Kingdom Life Ministries International (202 Mercer Avenue NW, Roanoke, Virginia 24017).
