She was predeceased by: her parents, Emory Winn and Donna York Chastain; her husband Dr. Denville Thomas Darnell (DT); her sons, Carl Denville Darnell and Thomas Harmon Darnell; and her siblings, E. W. Chastain, John Chastain, Edward Chastain, Ralph Chastain, Lavinia Coker and Ruth Hammond.
She is survived by: her daughters, Amy Ray and Ruthanna Wingo; her daughter-in-law Tammy Darnell of Tate; her sister Donna Chastain Herndon; her brother-in-law Olan Herndon of Charlottesville, Virginia; her brother Paul; her sister-in-law Staci Chastain of Dallas, Georgia; her siblings, Ann Chastain Merritt of Kennesaw and Sam; and her sister-in-law Cheryl Chastain of Powder Springs. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Goizueta Alzheimer's Disease Research Center or to the Church of your choice.
