He is survived by: his brother-in-law Paul; his wife Sylvia Patricia Christian Shelnutt; his son Joseph Christian "Chris" Shelnutt (Ashley); his grandchildren, Keller and Evyn of Marietta; his daughter Renee Shelnutt Dorminy (Brock); his grandchild Chase (Elizabeth) of Peachtree City; and his sisters, Jeanne Shelnutt Brant (Paul), Elaine Shelnutt McGinty (Ray), Andrea Shelnutt Callaway (Harold) of Zebulon, Mary Ann Christian Cooke (Mitch) of Fayetteville and Linda Christian Owen (Walter). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
