He was predeceased by: his parent James Patrick Lavaga Brooks, Sr.; his wife Betty Hilton Brooks; his grandson Steven Casey Allen; his son-in-law Merrill Allen; and his sister Ann Anglley.
He is survived by: his parent Ruby Leevoy Thompson Brooks; his children, Gary Brooks (Elizabeth), Susan Brooks Allen and Steve Brooks (Daniela); his grandchildren, John Patrick Allen (Crystal), James Christopher Allen (Catherine) and Stephanie Brooks; his great grandchildren, Breanna Allen, Cameron Allen, Sydney Ruiz, Larry Lee Allen and Emily Pearl Allen; and his siblings, Josephine McGlamery, Malinda Brooks and Edward Brooks. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
