She is survived by : her husband Leon Gates, Jr. of LaGrange, GA; her children, Gwendolyn Brock (Robert) of Hogansville, GA, Francine Hammett of LaGrange, GA, Elfrade Boddie (Clarence) of Columbus, GA, Christopher Boddie of LaGrange, GA, Hugh Hammett (April) of LaGrange, GA, Monica Hammett of LaGrange, GA, Samuel Hammett (Nikki) of Columbus, GA, Kizzie Gates of Greenville, GA and Octavious Gates of Greenville, GA; her sisters, Myra Henry (Calvin) of LaGrange, GA, Altimeas Snellings (Winfred) of LaGrange, GA and Shelia Copeland of Pine Mountain, GA; her siblings-in-law, Margaret Blacock (Thomas) of Lutherville, GA, Gladys Harris of LaGrange, GA, Robert Gates of Greenville, GA, John Gates (Jackie) of LaGrange, GA and Calvin Gates of Greenville, GA; her cousin Mary Pearl Crowley; her sister Doreen Green of Detroit, MI; her close friends, Brunella Lipscomb, Diane Cameron, Sheridan Brock-Johnson of Lanett, AL and Verlene Briddy of LaGrange, GA; and her pet Patches Gates. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; three sisters.

She was the foundation of Faith and Love for her family and church.
