He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Joy and Carrie Green Joy. He is survived by: his wife Nell Joy of LaGrange; his children, David Joy of Sharpsburg and Penny Joy Hyatt of Newnan; his stepdaughters, Robin Dunlap Cofield (Marty) of LaGrange and Angie Dunlap Cassell (Lamar) of Franklin; his sister Elsie Livermore of New York; and his stepsiblings, Lynn Bowersox of Hawaii, Susan Josephson, Jan Spinler of New York, Sam Spaulding of New York and Dennis Ridout of New York. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
