It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sammy Lee Cotton (LaGrange, Georgia), who passed away on June 25, 2019, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lee and Johnnie Mae Cotton; his wife Amanda Mae Patterson Cotton; his great grandchild Josiah Birdsong; his siblings, Essie Mae Hayes, Etterene Cotton and Henry Lee Cotton, Jr. (Willenia); his uncle Lucious Cotton; and his siblings' children, Robert B. "NuNu" Hayes and Ovira Daniels.
He is survived by: his children, Linda G. Mitchell, Samuel V. Cotton (Lera), Jeffery I. Cotton (Monia), Vanessa D. Birdsong (Joe Henry), Lawanda A. Cotton, Pastor Antonyetta R. Cato (Lewis) and Montre V. Brown (David); his grandchildren, Lashika Birdsong, Katie Birdsong, Cordero Cotton, Gregory Griggs, Jestin Cotton, Samantha Cotton, Kwame Brown, Kelsey Cotton and Kenyetta Cotton; and his brother Robert "Pilo" Cotton (Wendy) of Newark, NJ.
