He is survived by: his wife Gale Ballard Sims of Valley, Alabama; his children, Walter Thomas Sims, Jr. (Terri Snow Sims) of Chesapeake, VA, Lisa Sims Hansen (Eric Hansen) of Dallas, TX and Sylvia Amanda Sims Pearson (Ben Pearson) of LaGrange, GA.; his grandchildren, Walter Thomas Sims, III (Bo), Catherine Sims (Cassy), William Sims (Wil), Peter Hansen, Preston Hansen, Hanna Hansen, Bailey Pearson and Parker (Hanna Pearson); and his siblings, Donald Simms (Kay) of Lanett Alabama and Rebecca Smith (Charles) of LaGrange. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
