He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Cooper Shannon and Vida Lee Harper Shannon; his daughter Anna Lee Greneker; and his grandson Steven Fordham Abney. He is survived by: his wife Carrol Shannon of Lake Park; his daughters, Amanda Carol Shannon of Lake Park, Amy Shannon Scarborough (Steve Scarborough) of Dawsonville, GA, Carrol (Ronald Hays), Cheryl (Kevin Quigg) and Christy (Charlton Salter); his grandchildren, Annalise, Caleb Espy, Sterling Franklin Abney, Samson Fordham Abney and Gage Greneker; his great grandchild Cade Espy; and his sister Norma Jean Corak (Bob) of Albany, GA..
Visitation was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home (3119 W Marion Ave, Lake Park, GA 31636). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
