He was predeceased by : his grandparents, James Gayle Dunlap and Emily Pearce Dunlap. He is survived by : his parents, Kathryn Long Dunlap (Kit) and Gayle Pearce Dunlap; his pet Sampson; his friends, Chris Romberg, Billy, Ursula Luesing, Dustin Rogers, Emily DeFoor, Tim Roberts and John Hash; his sister Emily Whitfield Dunlap (Whitney); and his aunts and uncles, Sissy, Bobby Lawson of Gainesville, Bud and Susan Long of Jasper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Chattooga River Conservancy at Chattoogariver.org. The Dunlap family has established the Jamie Dunlap Legacy fund at the North Georgia Community Foundation to honor his memory.
