He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sandra R. Sumner of Lenox; his son Rhett Sumner; his daughter-in-law Lolly Sumner of Trenton, Florida; his son Paul Sabastian Sumner of New York; his stepson Mark; his daughter-in-law Ann Little of Adel, Georgia; his stepdaughter Leigh; his son-in-law Scott Bennett of Hahira, Georgia; his stepdaughter Libby; his son-in-law Henry Burton of Barney, Georgia; his siblings, Ilene Sumner Ohara of Tampa, Florida, Joe Tom Sumner of Moultrie, Georgia, George Sumner of Tifton, Anita Sumner Lee of Salisbury and Phillip Sumner of Tifton; and his son Michael Dawes. He was also cherished by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
