He was predeceased by : his parents, Toombs A. Norman and Bessie Drinkard Norman; and his siblings, Elizabeth N. Ward, Virginia N. Guillebeau, Mary N. Myers and William D. "Billy" Norman.

He is survived by : his granddaughters, Sara Beth, Amy and Catherine; his wife Mildred "Mickey" Cliatt Norman; his children, Dr. Andy M. Norman of Manchester, TN, Dan C. Norman of Blowing Rock, NC, Vinnie V. "VeVe" Thompson of Apopka, FL and Dr. John T. Norman of Dalton, GA.; his children-in-law, Judy T. Norman, Teresa G. Norman, Angie D. Norman and Ray Thompson; and his sister Ellie N. Beggs. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.
