She was predeceased by: her parents, William Emory Thomas and Ethel Louise Harrod Thomas; her husband Bernard Gostin Young; and her siblings, Hoyt Thomas, Doris Jordan, Cloma Bishop, Sybil Craft and Vena Sherrill.
She is survived by: her daughters, Vicki (Joel Miller), Georgia and Joi (Mark Bagwell); her grandchildren, Jason (April Miller), Kristen (Jeremy Ragan), Erin (Brian Burchik) and Jessica (Reese Armstrong); and her great grandchildren, Makayla Miller, Amyra, Aliyah, Darius, Eli Burchik and Miles Armstrong. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
