He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Whatley and Avis Tatum Whatley; and his sister Carolyn Standridge. He is survived by: his siblings, Everett Whatley and Annette Emory; his son Andrew Whatley; his daughter-in-law Kathleen Whatley; his daughter Jennifer Govea; his son-in-law Enrique Govea; and his grandsons, William Whatley, Nathan Whatley and David Govea.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to: Lithia Springs First United Methodist Church, Youth Department or any humane/animal shelter.
