She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Monroe Smith and Lillian Nipper Smith; and her siblings, Elijah "Sonny" Smith, Jimmie Bryant and Lucille Winters.
She is survived by: her husband Benjamin "Frankie" Newberry; her children, Donald Newberry (Cindy), Douglas Newberry, Tim Newberry, Beverly Boyce (Harold), Cheryl McKenzie and Vickie "Jo" Stokes (Scott); and her sister Jackie Haymons. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins.
