He was predeceased by: his parents, George Burdell Newsome and Navy Lou Johnson Newsome. He is survived by: his wife Valerie Simmons Newsome; his daughters, Belinda (Tim Langley), Marlynn (Wade Bohannon) and Karen (Travis Smith); his brother Jimmy; and his sister-in-law Karen Newsome of Dallas. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, as well as several brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews.
