She was predeceased by : her parents, William Payne and Lillie Mae Curtis Payne (Gerrells); her former life partner Douglas F. Stancil; her husband Jess Stancil; and her brother Calvin Payne.

She is survived by : her stepchildren, Charles William and Barbara Ann; her children, Charles Stancil (Willie) of Marietta, Barbara Pirkle (Leon) of Dahlonega, Gale Barnett of Woodstock and Mark Stancil of Woodstock; her sister-in-law Iris Smith of Dahlonega; her great grandchild Bethany Harbeson; and her granddaughter Linda Harbeson (Paul). She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
