He was predeceased by : his parents, Luther Sr. Blassingame and Alma Blassingame; his siblings, Bernice Blassingame, Odell Blassingame, James Blassingame, Clarence Blassingame, Ernest Blassingame, Robert Blassingame and Sylvester Blassingame; and his son Andre D. Jones.
He is survived by : his wife Annie Ponder Blassingame; his children, Sandra Blassingame Marshall of Charlotte, Alvin, Mary G. Smith (James) of Starr, Sheila Chatmon of Fortson, Georgia and Dr. Roddrick L. Chatmon (Brenda) of Lizella, Georgia; his goddaughter Chayla "Lisa" Kendrick of Fortson, Georgia; his grandchildren, Anthony Blassingame, Cortez Brown, Andrew Jones, Gace Jones, Devonta Jones, Courtney Marshall, Robert L. Marshall, III, Leslie Ann Gapasin, Ravyn L. Chatmon of Roddrick, Chatmon, Jr. and Ryan L. Chatmon; his great grandchildren, Michael Blassingame, Norlani Blassingame and Xavier Blassingame; his brothers, Luther Blassingame, Jr. (Bertha) of Seneca, Sammy L. Blassingame (Lenore) of Macon, Mack Blassingame (Shirley) of Seneca, Randy Blassingame (Beverly) of Westminster and Eugene Johnson (Vera) of Raleigh; his sister-in-law Linda S. Blassingame of Macon, Georgia; and his sisters, Shirley Blassingame McCauley of Seneca and Anita Whitfield (James) of Elgin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
