She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Connell and Donnie Boyd Connell; her husband Charles Wilfred Merritt; and her siblings, Odessa Smith, Naomi Andrews, John Connell and Edward Connell.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy Merritt (Bill Mulley) and Barry Merritt (Beth); her grandchildren, Kyle Lucas, Aubrey Merritt and Mason Merritt; and her sister Bessie Joyce. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
