He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Brown Evans and Willie Mae Hartley Evans; and his siblings, John, James, Herman, Gene Evans, Arlene Hulett and Geraldine Evans.
He is survived by: his former wife Wendy Evans of Macon, Georgia; his son Carl Evans, II (Jamie) of Colorado; his grandchildren, M'Kayla Emery, Robert Emery, III (Elijah), Alexis Blackmon, Breyona Emery, Spencer and Carlie Evans; and his great grandchild Robbyn Emery. He is also survived by several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
