He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie E. Whalen, Sr. and Lillian Cox Whalen; and his parents-in-law, Zemmie B. Waits and Joe B. Waits. He is survived by: his wife Joan Whalen of Macon; his children, Sherri Whalen Thigpin (Danny) of Macon, Charles Robbie Whalen (Kim) of Macon and Rhonda Whalen Steger (Marty) of Fayetteville, Georgia; his grandchildren, Ashley Thigpin Yeomans (Josh) of Macon, Alex Thigpin (Suzanne) of Macon, Casey Whalen (Stacey) of Macon, Samantha Whalen (Ryan Hilley) of Macon and Zemmie Steger of Fayetteville; his great grandchildren, Ellie Yeomans, Lily Kate Yeomans, Daniel Thigpin, Charles Thigpin, Hadley Whalen and Walker Whalen; and his sister-in-law Judy Cooper of Macon.
