He was predeceased by: his parents, David Howington and Dot Howington. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Johnson Howington of Macon; his children, Andy Howington of Commerce, Georgia and Wendy Howington of Macon; his sisters, Deryl H. Amoss (Dan) of Blue Ridge and Dianne Shalibo (Kent) of Big Canoe, Georgia; and his nieces and nephews, Becky Drain (Bryan) of Houston, Dotty Jones (Bill) of Milledgeville, Emily Cisco (Mark) of Byron, Bert Hatcher (Joana) of Jacksonville, Gary Wood (Amy) of Long Beach and Grant Wood (Laura) of Roswell, Georgia.
