He was predeceased by: his parents, George William Summerson, Sr. and Champe Fitzhugh Grant Summerson; and his sister Sue Mead Summerson Wells. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Nelms of Smithfield, Virginia.; his daughters, Catherine Mealor (Bill) of Atlanta, Georgia and Sarah Pickle (Trent) of Mendham; his grandchildren, Griggs, Davis Mealor, George and Virginia Pickle; and his sister Champe Fitzhugh Summerson Hyatt of Bradenton. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
