She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Barnes and Noba Barnes; her husband J. T. Powell; and her siblings, Pomella Barnes and Glenn Barnes.
She is survived by: her daughter Lynn Bridger; her son-in-law Jeff Bridger; her granddaughter Cassi Harrison of Byron, GA; her siblings, Jim Barnes (Evelyn), Joe Barnes (Mary Darcus) of Sylva, NC, Linda Jiles (James) of Waynesville, NC and Helen Hankins of Thomasville, NC; and also Gloria Hicks. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
