He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mell Wray and Sarah Jackson Wray; his brother Robert Mell Wray; and his son Richard Lyon "Chard" Wray. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Aletta Watts; his children, Jackson Mell Wray, Lisa Wray Anderson (Richard), Sarah Wray of Virginia and Hammond Keith Wray; and his grandsons, John Wesley "Jack" Anderson of St. Simons Island, Richard Davenport Wray of St. Simons Island, Robert Colin Mell Wray of St. Simons Island and James Jeptha Wray of St. Simons Island.
