He was predeceased by: his parents, James Holmes and Dorothy Holmes; his son Christopher Holmes; his parents-in-law, Cecil and Irene Schossow; his brother Bill; and his sister-in-law Diane Schossow.
He is survived by: his wife Murleen Holmes; his daughters, Laura Holmes, Tonya Arnold, Tina Lewis (Greg) and Tara McClung (John); his grandchildren, Matthew Point (Sierrah), Danielle Byrd (Caleb), Melissa Point, McKenzie Arnold, Emma Lewis, Griffin Lewis, John Daniel McClung IV and Halle Jaymes McClung; and his great grandchildren, Addison Pendrey, Joey Grace Byrd and Finn Point.
