He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Layton and Helen Morgan Layton. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Bankston Layton of Macon; his stepsiblings, Tommy Layton (Janey) of West Virginia, Janet Wood of Charlotte, NC and Sandra Wellman of Charlotte, NC; and his stepchildren, Anthony Serpas and Stacey Halbrook (Eric) of Spearfish, SD.
