He was predeceased by: his parents, John Errell Horton, Sr. and Lottie Mae Reid Horton; his sisters, Helen June Horton Workman and Gloria Horton Claiborne; and his former wife Mary Wright Horton.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Little Horton; his daughters, Jennifer Leigh Horton of Columbus, Jan Horton Spence (Mitchell) of Jacksonville, Jamie Horton Swartzendruber (Jacob) of Charlotte, Krista Davis Breedlove (Jason) of Athens and Ashley Davis Dorough of Macon; his grandchildren, Cole, Harrison, Caitlin, Julia Breedlove, Casey, Savannah and Hadley Dorough; and his siblings, Mary Joyce Waltz (Alan) of Lombard, Brenda Horton Tasker (late J. W.) of Johns Creek, Georgia and Larry Franklin Horton (Judy) of Wiley, Georgia..
