He was predeceased by: his parents, Josephine Willingham and Spain Willingham. He is survived by: his wife Jane; his son Spain Willingham of Atlanta; his stepchildren, Catherine Douglas (Brian) of Augusta and Brian Currie of Atlanta; his siblings, Helen Meadors (Craig Burkhalter) of Rabun Gap, GA and Joe Willingham (Doris) of Berkeley, CA; his nephew Frank Meadors (Kristen) of Rabun Gap, GA; his great-nephew Thomas Meadors of Rabun Gap, GA.; his grandchildren, Erin Safford (Justin), Palmer Douglas (Molly) of Augusta and Jane Douglas of Washington, D. C.; and his great grandchildren, Henry, Landry Safford, Bea, Sally and Cal Douglas of Augusta.

Now that Covid restrictions have eased, the family will hold a memorial service at Christ Episcopal Church Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 4:00 with the Reverend Cynthia Knapp officiating.
