He was predeceased by: his grandmother Sheppard Woodell; his former wife Mary Haynes Woodell; and his siblings, Nancy Locklear, Diana Bruce, Kate Fowler and Merlin Woodell.

He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Stokes Woodell; his daughter Allison Griffin (Chad); his granddaughters, Meg and Molly Griffin; his siblings, Nina W. Hawkins, Melyear Woodell and Wayne Woodell; and his stepson Marcus Parker (Teri).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macon Rescue Mission or New Haven Baptist Church.
