She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel B. Hester and Frances Lue Harrell Hester; and her brother Sammy Hester. She is survived by: her children, Julie Johnson (Tim), Pam Griffin and Randy Welch (Tammy); her grandchildren, Stephanie Freed (Kory), Beth Futrell (John), Tony Griffin (Lindsay), Steven Griffin (Amber), Danielle Ayers (Rusty), Tristan Welch and Morgan Welch; her great grandchildren, Nick Landon, Emily McGrath, Ayden Griffin, Riley Griffin, Elli Ayers, Brantley Griffin, Cole Futrell, Grace Ayers, Kensleigh Ayers and Abby Griffin; her sisters, Alice Vissage (Charles), Marcenia Desroches (Don), Peggy Rambeau, Michelle Lanier (Darrell) and Darnell Miller (Jerry); and her sister-in-law Jan Hester.
