He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm Stewart Burgess, Sr. and Nell Sanders Burgess; his wife Andrea "Candy" Burgess; and his sister Patricia Stewart Burgess. He is survived by: his children, Robert Sanders "Sandy" Burgess of Macon and Rebecca Robin "Becky" Burgess of Atlanta; and his grandchildren, Robert Sanders "Jude" Burgess Jr. and Kate Elizabeth Burgess.
