She was predeceased by: her parents, John Vaughn and Pearl Lee Reynolds Vaughn; the father of her children Walter O. Cannon, Sr.; and her husband Dr. Samuel Cannon. She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Kay Cannon and Ryan Murphy of Woodstock; and her siblings, Grady Wilbur Vaughn of Eastman, Lydia Pearl Vaughn of Florida and Dorothy Kate Vaughn of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
