He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Teresa Jean Ballard; his children, Canaan Brian Ballard, Thomas McCoy, Daniel Wayne Whitehead and Aden Vincent McCoy; and his brothers, Joe Ballard and Bobby Ballard.
