He was predeceased by: his parents, Pauline Smith Couch and Alvin Jackson Couch. He is survived by: his wife Mary Thompson of Virginia; his children, Nathaniel Jackson Couch Jr. (Kimberley) of Gray, Virginia Thompson Couch (Fehmi Dogan) of Izmir, Turkey and Richard Jefferson Couch (Lesley) of Marietta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Greer Couch, Cooper Couch (Logan), Margaret Adams, Lara Couch and Baris Dogan; his great grandchild Gaven Couch; and also Virginia Couch of Macon.
