He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Pruett and Ruby Estelle Collins Pruett; and his siblings, Buddy, Billy Pruitt, Ann Sayles and Dot Schoenhofen.
He is survived by: his wife Edith Collins Pruett of Macon; his sons, Danny Pruett (Sherry) of Macon and Chad Pruett (Alicia) of Macon; his grandchildren, Maggie Pruett of Macon, Hunter Pruett of Macon, Deseree Pruett of Macon and Haley Pruett of Macon; his great grandchild Ava Bowden of Macon; and his brother Carl Pruett (Wendy) of California.
