She was predeceased by: her parents, David Greer Downs and Geneva Lowery Downs; her grandson Caleb White; and her siblings, Terry Downs and Kathy Downs.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Carter; her daughters, Tammy Metts (Frankie), Angie Herb (Shannon) and Jennifer White (Brad); her sister Elaine Downs; her grandchildren, Michael Cartledge (Samantha), Brittany Johnson (Brandon), Ashlie Peeples, Kaitlyn Chapman and Taylor White; and her great grandchild Brinleigh Johnson. She is also survived by niece and several nephews.
