He was predeceased by: his son Lance V. Simmons; and his great grandchild Lawton Hermes. He is survived by: his wife Wileane Simmons; his daughter Laura Simmons; his grandchildren, Brittany Hermes (Hugh) and Ashlyn Rover; and his great grandchild Luca Hermes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heart of GA Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31025.
