He is survived by: his wife Ann Conkey Cummings of Forsyth; his children, William F. Cummings, Jr. (Bernt Heiberg) and Gena Cummings Howell (Mike); his grandchildren, Michael Howell and Austin Howell; and his brother-in-law George Austin Conkey.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the donor's favorite charity.
