He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harold Thompson and Elma Jean Sapp Thompson; his wife Patti Johnson Thompson of Cobbtown; his children, Charity Hill of Claxton, Adam Thompson (Kara) of Nescopeck, PA, Paul Thompson (Laura) of Metter and Sarah Thompson of Augusta; and his siblings, Fonda Jones (Al) of Register and Marty Thompson (Megan) of Claxton. He was also cherished by 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
