He was predeceased by: his parents, James O Ludwig, Sr. and Jean Byers Ludwig; and his siblings, Linda Duberson, Ralph Ludwig and Robert Ludwig.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Mittendorf Ludwig; his children, Christi Ludwig Welsh (Joe Welsh) and James Ludwig, III (Elise); his granddaughters, Emma Rose Ludwig and Claire Osborn Ludwig; and his siblings, Donald B. Ludwig, Ann Garber, Heidi and Ted Sazdanoff. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to The Wounded Warrior Project.
