He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Ann Kirkpatrick; and his parents, John Edward and Frances Shirley Kirkpatrick. He is survived by: his children, Cherie K. Beasley (Jimmy), Steven Kirkpatrick (Holly) and Joseph J. Kirkpatrick; and his grandchildren, Jake Russell Beasley, Sydney Taylor Kirkpatrick, Chase Christopher Beasley and Seth Michael Kirkpatrick.
