He was predeceased by: his daughters, Angela Smith (Lewis), Ashley Sturgis (Arkeem), Aurburney Suggs and Aliyiah Suggs; his mother Willa Mae Tyler; and his brothers, Ronnie Suggs (Cassandra) and Roger Suggs.

He is survived by: his wife Deirdre K. Suggs; and his sons, Alex Lewis Suggs and Andrew Suggs (Jasmine).
