He was predeceased by: his former wife Linda Frisby Upchurch; his parents, Arthur Jefferson Upchurch, Sr. and Nora Lee Upchurch (Bowden) of McDonough; and his siblings, Pebble Almond, Ralph Upchurch, Grady Upchurch, Grace Craig, Orion Lewis, Francis Rosser, Janie McGarity and Faye Carmichael.
He is survived by: his spouse Birgitta Hellgren Upchurch; his children, Angela Porth (Heinz) of Orlando, FL and Jeff Upchurch (Cindy) of Atlanta; and his grandchildren, Linda Gabriella Porth, Emma-Grace Upchurch Porth, Rainer Upchurch Porth, Andrew Jefferson Upchurch and Charlotte Elizabeth Upchurch.
