He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Horrell Pate and Walter H. Pate. He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Mitchell (Mark), Sandra Allen (Barry) and Cynthia Pate; and his grandchildren, Hannah, Adan Mitchell and Cory Tanajewski.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prayers for Paws or the Henry County Humane Society.
