He was predeceased by: his parents, Lenzie Herbert and Ruby Love-Thomas Williams; his daughter Cathy Lee Williams; and his siblings, Walter Williams, James Williams and Elsie Duffey.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Williams; his daughter Lynn Whitson (David); his grandchildren, Samantha Sledge, Katherine Whitson, Christi Allcott (Dave), Jason Whitson, Jared Whitson (Carol Ann) and Josh Whitson; and his siblings, Betty Thomas, Oscar Williams, Marie Lowery, Mary Gilmer and Raymond Williams. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
