She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Marvin Pierce and Bertha Leona Pierce; her husband Rev. James C. Monkus; her son Sammy Monkus; and her sisters, Leola Dover and Sedney Moss.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Monkus Davis and Rev. Benny Monkus; her grandchildren, Reni Ratterree, Scott Davis, Dana Hood, Marvin William Brand Jr., Aaron Monkus, Nikki Hines and Benjamin Monkus; and her sibling's children, Nedra Cheek and Niles Dover. She is also survived by cousins, friends.
