He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest M. Brown and Annie Lee Brown; and his siblings, Hurley Brown and Willis Brown. He is survived by: his wife Betty Brown; his daughters, Cheryl Chaffin (Donnie) and Teresa Freeman; his grandchildren, Jennifer Chaffin, James Chaffin, Houston Freeman, III (Carlie), Mark Chaffin and Justin Freeman; his great grandchildren, Houston Freeman, IV and Levi Freeman; and his siblings, Mary Breed, Dorothy Cargile (Charles) and Tommy "Sambo" Brown (Ann). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
