He was predeceased by: his brother Ross Whitman; his son Randy Walls; and his granddaughter Emmalee Busch. He is survived by: his wife Colleen Whitman; his daughter-in-law Lindsay Jones of McDonough; his brother Wayne Whitman; his grandchildren, Ginette, Karina, Jamey, Alexander, Luna, Riley, Beka, Josiah, Brittney and Tyler; and also, Billy Walls (Pam) of Woodland, AL, Leonard Pagnard (Alyce Hill) of Jefferson, GA, Philip Pagnard of Cedar Crest, NM, Christine Busch (Dan) of Hackettstown, NJ and Elizabeth Glass (Jonathan) of Stockbridge, GA.
