The memory of Jeanell Kite Shellnut of Midland, Georgia, who passed away on June 27, 2025 at the age of 90, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Brady Kite and Ethel Louise Jenkins; her husband Paul McKinley Shellnutt, Jr.; her siblings, Brady Lamar Kite, Ronald "Pete" Kite, Douglas Kite and Wonda Bright; and her siblings-in-law, Judy Ware and Tommy Shellnutt.
She is survived by: her children, John Paul Shellnutt and Joy Shellnutt; her siblings, Donnie Kite, Sally Hargrave, Georgette Stewart, Charlotte Yarbrough (Wayne) and Cynthia Kay; her sisters-in-law, Linda Cox, Patty Newsome and Joan Pierce; and her caregiver Korena Tucker.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel (142 Southland Rd, Americus, GA 31709). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rehoboth Baptist Church (422 GA-49 S, Americus, GA 31719). A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Park Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rehoboth Baptist Church in Jeanell's memory.
